Charlotte Desprat
PRINCIPAL
Charlotte has led projects across a wide range of fields, including medical technology, social media, and retail financial services. Her work has often been multinational in nature, and she came to New Markets with a background in global affairs and diplomacy. At the Carnegie Moscow Center think tank, Charlotte published commentaries on French-Russian relations and interviewed prominent economists and industry experts about the future of Russia’s oil and gas sector. An avid French and Russian speaker, she was also Editor-in-Chief of Accent Magazine, a multilingual university publication, and worked as a certified translator at the Quinnipiac Civil Justice Clinic and the Yale Law School’s Schell Center for International Human Rights. As an interpreter, she most recently helped a political refugee from the Congo gain asylum in the United States and assisted Haitian advocates in their appeal to the United Nations.
Charlotte graduated cum laude from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a focus on Soviet Russian studies. Although she is a French citizen and native speaker, she was raised largely in Prague. She is a veteran of New Markets’ Boston office and is now based in Paris. |
