The Missing Link in the Future of WorkInsights from New Markets Advisors

We’re reading a lot these days about the future of work, from office architecture to employment models and beyond. In the midst of all those predictions, we’re seeing quite little about the underlying forces that motivate both companies and workers, i.e. their Jobs to be Done. Emerging solutions might be bold and novel, but if they don’t have a clear fit with both sets of those Jobs we won’t see much real progress happen.
In this month’s newsletter, we have three items that use that lens. The first is our recent article in Forbes exploring how the management tool OKRs are meshing with key Jobs to be Done of employers in managing remote and hybrid workers. Next we look at how companies are reappraising the role of their sales force post-pandemic, figuring out the Jobs that their sales reps actually get done for their customers and designing the future salesforce to match those missions. Last, we have a short case study from an innovative Canadian financial services company on how it designed truly distinctive offerings for gig economy workers. |
