Co-operators, a leading Canadian insurer and financial services provider, was looking to better serve new types of workers by targeting customer segments and finding ways to win with eachone.
APPROACH
Interviewed emerging types of workers from a wide range of backgrounds to better understand their financial needs, as well as how they conceived of and dealt with risks
Designed concepts and tested their appeal through a large-scale survey
Developed and prioritized products and business models, with a clear action plan for how to roll them out
IMPACT
In part through the foundations we laid, Co-operators has commercialized Duuo, an insurtech business that provides personalized, on-demand insurance for targeted populations such as event hosts, exhibitors, and more.
Most recently, the on-demand digital insurance pioneer launched its latest product, small business insurance, available to a range of self-employed Canadian workers such as tradespeople, photographers, dog walkers, and home bakers.
