Elakiya Sivakumar

ASSOCIATE

Elakiya has a master's degree from Columbia university in Biomedical Engineering and Design with magna cum laude. Additionally, she has deep technical experience building and applying Artificial Intelligence models to solve healthcare problems. Before working at New Markets Advisors, Elakiya worked in several medical start-ups in upstream product development and business strategy roles. She also has business development experience in the biopharmaceutical industry.  

Elakiya has been in multiple leadership positions, with her favorite being her time as president of Lights Out Please, SSN Theatre during her undergrad.  Currently, she’s on LifeSci NYC’s Alumni Advisory Board with the goal of improving alumni relations and networking opportunities for the program’s alumni.

Elakiya enjoys innovative problem solving like jobs to be done and human centered design. She also enjoys theater art, poetry, swimming and traveling. Elakiya grew up in India and Singapore and speaks Tamil, a bit of Korean, Malayalam and Hindi. ​
